London to Bodrum Non-Stop
One of Turkey's popular holiday spots, Bodrum, is about to be linked to London with a new series of flights. The Europe wide low price carrier, announced it will commence London Gatwick to Bodrum flights from April 23.
The Bodrum flights will operate three times a week, Monday, Thursday and Saturdays, until Oct. 24. The new one-way fares to Bodrum-Milas airport (BJV) are currently quoted on the Web site. The prices become higher month by month. According to Web site booking pages the fares include all taxes and charges and there is a baggage allowance of 20 kilograms for one bag.
EasyJet already fly to Dalaman five days a week. EasyJet spokesman Andrew McConnell said: "We have been analyzing these new routes for a while and we see this is as a great opportunity. These new routes fit into our business model by continuing to connect major European cities."
Bodrum property owners and residents were posting and e-mailing the news as soon as it was announced with new journeys being booked almost instantly. "It is about time," said one Gümbet resident.
There have been various online petitions to Easyjet for a direct service link. A new one started with a Manchester-Bodrum link. EasyJet first started services to Turkey in 2006 with their year round London Luton route to Istanbul's Asian shore, Sabiha Gökçen Airport, followed by the summer season Gatwick-Dalaman route. A Manchester-Dalaman flight will start in August 2009. Easyjet's sister company, EasyCruise, first included Bodrum as its only Turkish port on weekly Aegean cruises in 2008 and is set to continue them in 2009. |
